A former FC Barcelona star has insisted that, although superstar Lionel Messi is the best player in the world, he is "not invincible".
Chelsea winger Pedro, who left the Catalan giants for London in 2015, is looking forward to taking on his former colleagues in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
Speaking ahead of the match, the Spaniard insisted Chelsea can stop Messi, despite the Argentine being arguably the best player in the history of the sport.
"Messi is the best player in the world, but he's not invincible," Pedro said, according to the Daily Telegraph.
"Obviously, it's Barcelona. It's Leo Messi. It's very difficult to stop this guy because he's very quick, very clever. But, look, it's not impossible.
"He's on another level. No one can do what he does. For this reason, to have played with him is special. Special for me, and something to tell my sons in the future because, probably, he'll be considered the best in history."
Messi is yet to score against Chelsea in his career so far, but will be looking to hit the back of the net in the first leg of their Round of 16 clash tonight.
